Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (North London)

About the role

We are looking for reliable, confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to provide classroom supervision in secondary schools across North London when teachers are absent. This flexible role is ideal for graduates, experienced cover supervisors, teaching assistants or anyone with experience working with young people.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short‑term teacher absence.
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials and keep students on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide support and guidance to students where appropriate.
• Record attendance and report on lesson outcomes.
• Work across a variety of subjects and year groups; no planning or marking required for day‑to‑day cover.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring or youth work.
• Strong behaviour management and communication abilities.
• Confidence leading groups of students in a classroom setting.
• Flexible, professional and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Genuine interest in education and supporting student success.
• A degree is desirable but not essential.
