Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Part‑time/Contract)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the London area. You will provide classroom cover for teachers on a day‑to‑day basis, ensuring that pupils continue to work on tasks while teachers are absent.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes for the full school day (approximately 8:30 am – 3:45 pm).
• Maintain a focused learning environment and keep students on task.
• Deliver pre‑planned activities or worksheets supplied by the absent teacher.
• Report any issues or student progress to the school’s senior staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with 11‑18‑year‑olds (e.g., graduates, youth workers, sports coaches).
• Positive, confident and professional attitude.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two references covering the past two years.

Required skills

• Ability to manage a classroom and keep students engaged.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
