Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Plymouth)

About the role

We are looking for a resilient and adaptable Cover Supervisor to step into secondary school classrooms across Plymouth during short‑term teacher absences. You will ensure that lessons continue smoothly, pupils stay engaged, and learning objectives are met without delivering new teaching content.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials to classes in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Manage student behaviour in line with each school’s policies, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
• Keep pupils on task, offering support and clarification where needed (teaching new content is not required).
• Follow safeguarding procedures and promptly raise any concerns.
• Record attendance, behaviour incidents, and completed work accurately.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings, year groups, and subject areas.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
