Cover Supervisor – South West London

About the role

Aspire People is looking for proactive and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across schools in South West London. The position is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced educators who need flexible, short‑term work. You will step into classrooms when the regular teacher is absent, keep students on task and ensure they complete the pre‑set work.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain classroom behaviour and create a safe learning environment.
• Supervise lessons and deliver pre‑set work in the teacher’s absence.
• Support pupils with questions and monitor their progress.
• Report back to the regular teaching staff on behaviour and achievement.
• Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, youth work) is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to engage students.
• Flexible and adaptable to work in different schools and year groups.
• Professional attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to hold a valid DBS check on the update service.
