Cover Supervisor (Supply Teaching) – Secondary Schools

About the role

We are seeking confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to deliver pre‑prepared lessons across a network of secondary schools in Stevenage. The role is supply‑based, offering flexible, part‑time or full‑time shifts until the end of the next academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment.
• Support pupils with questions and learning activities.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and classroom events.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people (e.g., sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, childcare).
• Calm, confident and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Flexible and able to adapt to different subjects and settings.
• Genuine interest in education; a degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.
