Cover Supervisor – Support Secondary School Classes

About the role
This position offers aspiring teachers the chance to gain hands‑on classroom experience as a Cover Supervisor in secondary schools across the Hertfordshire area. You will step in when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
Key responsibilities
- Manage classroom behaviour to create a constructive learning environment.
- Supervise and support the work set by the subject teacher.
- Act as a role model and build productive relationships with students.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and health‑and‑safety standards.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a school setting (preferred but not mandatory).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour while maintaining a positive learning environment.
