Creative Primary Teaching Assistant

About the role

Protocol Education is seeking a Creative Primary Teaching Assistant to support a small class of 6‑8 pupils in a special‑needs primary school in Morden. The role blends artistic talents with educational support, helping children with speech, autism, physical and learning challenges engage with the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils throughout the school day.
• Integrate creative activities such as art, music, cooking, sensory play and creative literacy/numeracy into lessons.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering a pupil‑centred, tailored curriculum.
• Encourage learning through play, expression and hands‑on activities.
• Follow personalised learning plans and maintain a calm, patient approach.

Required profile

• Creative thinker with a passion for the arts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient and consistent demeanor.
• Positive, supportive attitude able to build trust with learners.
• Willingness to work with children with special educational needs.
