Creative Teaching Assistant

About the role

Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic Creative Teaching Assistants to join a state‑of‑the‑art special‑needs school in Chigwell. The role starts in September and runs for a year, offering hands‑on experience with early years, primary and secondary students who have autism, speech and language difficulties, and other complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support small classes of 6‑8 pupils with tailored curriculum delivery.
• Assist in developing speech, language, vocabulary and comprehension using visual resources.
• Provide one‑to‑one support in core subjects such as numeracy and literacy.
• Facilitate creative lessons including art, music, swimming, cooking, K9 therapy and sensory play.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and adapt learning activities.

Required profile

• Passion for working with children of all ages and abilities.
• Commitment, dedication and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to undergo training and safeguarding checks.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday in a classroom setting.
