Creative Teaching Assistant - September Start

About the role

Protocol Education is seeking a Creative Teaching Assistant for a state‑of‑the‑art special needs school in Harlow. The role starts in September and runs for a year on a temporary basis, offering the chance to work with early years, primary and secondary students.

Key responsibilities

• Support small classes of 6‑8 pupils with autism, speech & language difficulties and complex needs.
• Deliver a tailored curriculum that meets individual learning requirements.
• Develop students' speech, language, vocabulary and comprehension using visual resources.
• Assist with core subjects such as numeracy and literacy.
• Facilitate creative lessons including art, music, swimming, cooking, K9 therapy and sensory play.
• Provide one‑to‑one support to enhance communication and social awareness.

Required profile

• Passion for working with children of all ages.
• Commitment, dedication and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and undergo training.
• Ability to work effectively in small group settings.
• Safeguarding awareness and suitability for working with vulnerable children.
