Credit Analyst – Financial Markets (London)

About the role

People First is seeking a Credit Analyst to join its London Branch Bond Investment team. You will be responsible for analysing credit risk, identifying bond investment opportunities and supporting the execution of the branch’s investment strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed credit analysis of existing and prospective investment credits, including financial statement and balance‑sheet reviews.
• Assess corporate structures, credit mitigation measures and sector dynamics to inform investment decisions.
• Identify suitable bond opportunities from both bank clients and external issuers that align with the London Branch Bond Investment Strategy.
• Maintain relationships with bond issuers, preparing credit reviews and periodic KYC updates.
• Collaborate with bank branches, head‑office departments and external dealers to source liquidity in primary and secondary markets.
• Monitor and manage the branch’s bond portfolio and related derivatives hedges.
• Track macro‑economic and credit market developments and assess their impact on the investment portfolio.
• Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Required profile

• Solid experience in a front‑ or middle‑office credit role.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience in credit analysis, financial statements and ratio modelling.
• Excellent presentation, organisational and planning skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities, with leadership potential.
