Credit Control Manager – Fixed Term (9 months)

About the role

MacKenzie King is recruiting an experienced Credit Control Manager on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract in Colchester. The role will lead the credit control function, ensuring timely collection of debt and supporting the business through a period of change.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the credit control team to achieve timely collection of outstanding debt.
• Oversee customer credit limits and conduct regular credit risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Handle escalated or complex debt queries and disputes.
• Produce regular reports on debtor days, aged debt, and cash flow.
• Review and improve credit control processes and policies.
• Support month‑end processes and provide ad‑hoc financial analysis as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Credit Control Manager with team management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of credit control best practices and risk management.
• Confident communicator able to influence at all levels.
• Hands‑on approach with excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with financial systems.
