Credit Control Manager – Lead Team & Drive Cash Collection

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Control Manager to lead the credit function for a fast‑growing FMCG business in Trafford Park. You will own the sales ledger, drive cash collection and manage a team of Credit Controllers in a high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of Credit Controllers.
• Drive cash collection activity and reduce aged debt across a large customer base.
• Monitor customer accounts, credit limits and exposure to minimise risk.
• Develop and implement credit control procedures and best practices.
• Build strong relationships with key customers and resolve payment queries promptly.
• Produce aged debt, cash collection and KPI reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Finance to resolve disputes efficiently.
• Handle escalated and complex customer accounts.
• Support cash‑flow forecasting and month‑end reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase team performance.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Credit Control Manager, Credit Manager or Senior Credit Controller.
• Proven track record of improving collections and reducing overdue debt in a high‑volume transactional environment.
• Strong leadership with experience managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Analytical mindset with good Excel and finance systems knowledge.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced business.
