Credit Controller (12-Month Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a well‑established finance team in Oldham on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. You will play a key role in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt, and supporting the wider accounts function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Chase overdue payments via telephone, email and written correspondence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries and disputes efficiently.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Produce aged debt reports and monitor outstanding balances.
• Negotiate payment plans where appropriate.
• Escalate problematic accounts in line with company procedures.
• Support month‑end processes and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activity.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Credit Control role.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage a high‑volume workload and prioritise effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confidence dealing with customers at all levels.
• Proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
