Credit Controller – 9‑Month Fixed‑Term (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy client accounting team on a nine‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is based in Reading and offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to balance office and remote work while supporting a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage outstanding debt on behalf of clients and drive timely payment recovery.
• Discuss repayment arrangements with clients and negotiate suitable terms.
• Escalate recovery matters through legal representatives when necessary.
• Produce regular reports on aged debt and recovery performance.
• Maintain accurate financial records and update internal systems.
• Investigate and resolve payment queries received by telephone and email.
• Prepare and manipulate Excel reports to support credit control activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing credit control processes and procedures.
• Provide general administrative support and assist with additional projects as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit control or a similar financial administration role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly organised and capable of working independently.
