Credit Controller – Evening Shift (US Hours)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a fast‑paced finance team in Leeds. Working US hours (12:30 pm – 8:00 pm), you will own a high‑volume ledger, build strong client relationships and drive cash collection performance.

Key responsibilities

• Chase overdue invoices by phone and email.
• Ensure debts are collected within agreed payment terms.
• Meet cash‑collection and debtor‑day targets.
• Manage and resolve invoice queries and disputes.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activity.
• Build relationships with clients and senior stakeholders to support timely payment.
• Process invoicing and payments through client portals.
• Undertake account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support cash allocation and posting activities.
• Manage credit notes and contractual payment requirements.
• Identify payment trends, risks and potential issues early.
• Produce ad‑hoc reports and support wider finance objectives.

Required profile

• Previous credit control or accounts‑receivable experience in a busy environment.
• Strong understanding of credit control procedures and debtor management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and confident in building relationships.
• Ability to identify and escalate potential risks.
