Credit Controller – Finance Team

About the role

This position offers the chance to join a supportive finance team within a well‑established organisation. You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, build positive relationships, and ensure timely payments through a proactive approach.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
• Contact customers about outstanding invoices, building relationships while meeting collection targets.
• Provide invoices, statements and account information as required.
• Monitor credit limits, account activity and payment performance to minimise financial risk.
• Process direct debits, card payments and update customer records accurately.
• Chase outstanding remittances and allocate payments to keep accounts up‑to‑date.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries with customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate account records and support the wider finance team with day‑to‑day duties.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, debt collection or a similar finance role.
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking to customers on the phone.
• Experience managing customer accounts and handling payment queries.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ability to work independently.
