Credit Controller – Fixed-Term, Hybrid (Milton Keynes)

About the role

Join Routeco’s Head Office in Milton Keynes as a Credit Controller on a fixed‑term, hybrid contract. You will manage a portfolio of sales ledger accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while supporting the wider credit control team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of assigned sales ledger accounts and collect overdue payments via phone and written communication.
• Handle customer queries, liaise with internal departments and negotiate settlement of overdue amounts.
• Provide commercially acceptable credit solutions in partnership with sales teams and set appropriate credit limits.
• Conduct regular credit risk assessments, open new credit accounts and escalate credit risk issues when required.
• Record all customer interactions and collection activities accurately in the company’s systems and reports.
• Support ad‑hoc credit control tasks and assist colleagues during periods of absence.

Required profile

• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proactive attitude towards problem‑solving and risk mitigation.
