Credit Controller – Hybrid, Leeds

About the role

This position is for an experienced Credit Controller working within a leading international law firm in Leeds. You will manage a dedicated client ledger, liaise with customers and internal teams, and ensure timely cash collection while delivering high‑level client service. The role is hybrid, with two days a week working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of client accounts and take full responsibility for the ledger.
• Contact clients by phone and email to recover outstanding payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Record all collection activity accurately and handle account queries.
• Prioritise workload to meet monthly cash‑collection and aged‑debt reduction targets.
• Monitor outstanding debt and resolve complex credit‑control issues proactively.
• Support the team inbox on a rota basis after training.
• Contribute to overall team performance and financial objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ credit‑control experience, preferably in professional services.
• Proven record of achieving cash‑collection and debt‑reduction targets.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to work independently under pressure.
• Resilience and calmness when handling difficult payment queries.

Required skills

• Experience with finance systems, preferably Elite 3E.
