Credit Controller - Interim

About the role

This interim role is for an experienced Credit Controller to join a fast‑growing tech business in London. You will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely cash collection and supporting the finance team during a period of rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor 300‑400 customer accounts across multiple platforms.
• Chase outstanding debt and secure payments on time.
• Negotiate payment terms and payment plans where required.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries and account discrepancies.
• Handle overdue accounts and take appropriate recovery actions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve billing issues and remove payment delays.
• Support external debt collection activities when needed.
• Review aged debt and monitor bad‑debt exposure.
• Provide clients with supporting documentation and account information on request.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years or more of credit control experience.
• Strong communication skills with a calm, tactful approach.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage a busy workload.
• Excellent attention to detail and experience reconciling accounts.
• Team player who enjoys collaborative work across the business.
• Proactive, organised and keen to improve processes.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Excel.
• Experience with finance systems; Netsuite is desirable.
