Credit Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team in Manchester. You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, build strong relationships and ensure timely collection of payments in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding payments to reduce aged debt.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, resolving queries and disputes efficiently.
• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies and allocate cash.
• Issue invoices, statements, reminder letters and other account documentation.
• Monitor aged debt reports, lead arrears review meetings and provide regular updates on collection performance.
• Collaborate with Finance and other internal teams to resolve queries and support continuous improvement of collection KPIs.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year recent experience in credit control, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong account reconciliation, cash allocation and query resolution abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently while managing challenging situations.
