Credit Controller

About the role

The Credit Controller will manage rent, service charge and insurance demands for a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring timely collections and accurate accounting. This 12‑month fixed‑term position supports the Property and Finance teams in a fast‑paced environment, offering one remote day per week.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual rent, service charge and insurance demands.
• Process daily tenant receipts, post payments and reconcile tenant accounts.
• Collect rent, service charges and other debts, contacting tenants proactively before due dates.
• Handle tenant queries and deliver high‑level customer service.
• Prepare tenant statements, arrears reports and other management information.
• Assist with service charge budgets, reconciliations and utility recharges.
• Prepare completion statements for lettings and acquisitions.
• Maintain property accounting systems and ensure accurate financial records.
• Complete quarterly sales ledger reconciliations.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider Property and Finance teams.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
• Strong customer service and relationship management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, independent working style and collaborative team attitude.

• MRIX (property management/accounting software) – desirable

What we offer

• Salary £35,000‑£45,000 per annum.
• Full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday schedule with one remote day per week.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract (maternity cover).
