Credit Controller

About the role

We are seeking a confident, customer‑focused Credit Controller to join our fast‑paced finance team in London. You will manage a portfolio of overdue accounts, ensuring cash collections are maintained while delivering a professional and positive experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers regarding overdue accounts.
• Handle payment and service queries primarily over the phone.
• Deliver a high level of customer service on every interaction.
• Update internal systems with accurate and timely notes.
• Process debit and credit‑card payments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account queries.
• Complete account adjustments where required.
• Prepare detailed account histories for escalation when needed.
• Manage workflow tasks accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Work towards collection, outbound call and Direct Debit targets.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' experience within collections or a similar role.
• Confident communicator with strong telephone skills.
• Positive, resilient and target‑driven.
• Strong negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality.

Required skills

• Competitive salary £25,000 – £28,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time, onsite role based in Blackfriars, London (5 days a week).
