Credit Controller – Leeds City Centre

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team in Leeds City Centre. The role is full‑time (35 hours per week) with a hybrid working model – three days in the office and the rest remote. You will support the sales ledger and credit function as the business aims to double its turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers by phone and email to chase outstanding invoice payments.
• Handle daily customer queries relating to invoices and payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to resolve issues promptly.
• Post and allocate customer payments accurately.
• Produce and issue sales invoices and statements.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with cash allocation.
• Support aged debtor reporting and provide commentary as required.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account queries.
• Assist the wider finance team during busy periods such as month‑end.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an end‑to‑end credit control role, handling complex queries and ledgers.
• Confident communicator with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage own workload in a busy environment.
• Experience in a professional services setting is a plus but not essential.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience using finance systems.
