Credit Controller – Major Business (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our Major Business Credit team on a temporary basis until December 2026. Working from our Lower Kingswood office, you will manage a portfolio of major business and public sector accounts, ensuring timely debt recovery and cash‑flow stability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and collect debt across a defined portfolio of major business and public sector customers.
• Administer collection procedures in line with departmental policies and prioritize ledger debt daily.
• Complete cash‑flow, workflow, month‑end analysis and no‑remit reporting accurately and on time.
• Collect manual Direct Debits, resolve rejected payments promptly, and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Identify accounts for escalation and prepare proposals for the Credit Team Manager.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve issues and support timely payments.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in credit control or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of credit control procedures and debt collection processes.
• Highly organised with a logical, methodical approach to problem‑solving.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Proactive, target‑driven and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
