Credit Controller – Manage Customer Accounts & Cash Flow

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join a well‑established manufacturing brand in Yate. The role is central to maintaining healthy cash flow by managing customer accounts, collecting overdue payments and supporting the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
• Contact customers by phone, email and written correspondence to chase overdue payments.
• Reconcile accounts, allocate incoming payments and resolve payment queries.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve disputes and minimise aged debt.
• Produce regular aged debtor reports and flag high‑risk accounts.
• Support month‑end closing activities and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Credit Controller or in Accounts Receivable.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a confident telephone manner.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Positive, team‑focused attitude and commitment to customer service.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of finance or accounting systems.
