Credit Controller – Marine Insurance (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a leading marine insurance provider on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will manage the full credit control cycle, from issuing premium statements to reconciling payments and supporting the underwriting team.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and issue premium and contra debt statements to brokers and members.
• Chase outstanding balances via phone and email.
• Investigate incoming remittances and ensure correct allocation of premiums.
• Manage cash allocation, minimise unallocated cash and aged debt.
• Process return premiums, brokerage and credit refunds.
• Set up and verify new payee bank details.
• Resolve offsets and internal/external queries promptly.
• Participate in daily cash receipt management and support colleagues during absences.
• Contribute ideas to streamline credit control processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit control, claims processing or a similar finance role, preferably within insurance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to support the team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
