Credit Officer – Mid Markets

About the role

The Mid Corporate Credit team is looking for a Credit Officer to support UK‑focused mid‑market customers with revenues of £25m‑£500m. You will work closely with coverage, product and risk partners to deliver sustainable credit solutions that enable growth for both clients and the business.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent credit assessments for new and existing business, including market due diligence and analysis of company‑provided information.
• Prepare and present credit submissions to sanctioning officials covering new‑to‑bank, increased lending, restructures and annual reviews.
• Liaise with originators, relationship managers and product partners to shape structured credit proposals and maintain an appropriate risk‑reward balance.
• Monitor credit exposures, identify changes to risk profiles and ensure compliance with Group and regulatory policies.
• Perform customer, sector and market research, including sensitivity analysis of cash‑flow models, to support robust credit decisions.
• Exercise formal Credit Authority Delegation where applicable and maintain accurate records for internal and statutory reporting.

Required profile

• Strong experience in credit risk assessment and financial analysis.
• Proven ability to evaluate the creditworthiness of UK‑focused mid‑market companies.
• Excellent judgment in balancing risk and reward and communicating findings to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with relationship managers, product partners and risk teams.
