Credit Risk Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Credit Risk Analyst to join our growing finance team in Dover. You will play a pivotal role in assessing credit applications, managing customer credit limits, and supporting a range of finance activities across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Assess new and existing customer credit applications using company accounts and credit reports.
• Review and renew credit facilities, recommending appropriate limits and payment terms.
• Monitor accounts to identify early payment opportunities, credit limit adjustments, or additional security needs.
• Liaise directly with customers to discuss financial information and make informed credit decisions.
• Support the account opening process, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance.
• Assist with sales ledger tasks such as invoicing, direct debits, and debt collection.
• Review higher‑risk accounts and propose suitable actions.
• Conduct bank reference checks and handle credit administration.
• Provide cover for finance functions including payroll, stock reconciliations, fuel margin analysis, and other accounting duties.
• Assist with credit reviews across multiple group companies.

Required profile

• Previous experience in credit risk, credit control or a finance role.
• Confidence in interpreting company accounts and commercial credit reports.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
• Effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn and take on broader finance responsibilities.
