Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst

About the role
We are looking for a Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst to join Barclays in the UK. The role will support the monitoring and management of credit risk across lending products such as loans and credit cards, providing insight and data‑driven analysis to senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the financial performance and risk profile of the lending portfolio, including borrowers, sectors and regions.
- Run SAS scripts and produce regular reporting and insight packs for senior management.
- Analyse credit trends, identify early warning signs and assess the impact of economic developments.
- Develop and use quantitative models and risk‑forecasting tools to estimate potential credit losses.
- Participate in portfolio stress‑testing exercises under various economic scenarios.
Required profile
- Degree or equivalent qualification with a strong analytical focus, preferably in a STEM or quantitative discipline.
- Proven experience as an analyst and ability to work proactively as a self‑starter.
- Strong numerical capability and logical, structured approach to analysis.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and identify trends.
Required skills
- SAS for data querying and analysis.
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
