Crew Manager – Fire Control (Northumberland)

About the role
The Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an experienced Crew Manager to join its Fire Control team. This permanent, full‑time position is based at the Service Headquarters in Cramlington and involves overseeing control room operations to ensure safe and effective emergency response.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a crew of control room operators during shift duty.
- Maintain and develop operational procedures for fire control activities.
- Support career progression and succession planning within the control room.
- Promote positive employee relations and liaise with trade unions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and inclusive organisational culture.
Required profile
- Current competent Fire Control operative (Firefighter or Crew Manager) employed in a UK fire and rescue service.
- No outstanding unspent disciplinary warnings.
- Ability to complete conversion training for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service processes.
Required skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving in high‑pressure environments.
- Leadership experience within emergency control operations.
