About the role

We are looking for an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor to join our specialist Criminal Law team in Nottingham. The role involves handling a wide variety of private criminal matters for individuals and companies, providing confidential advice and representation throughout investigations and prosecutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload across multiple areas of criminal law, ensuring high professional standards.
• Conduct case management using the firm’s systems, maintaining cost‑effective and efficient practices.
• Provide advice, preparation and representation for clients at every stage, including police stations, courts and regulatory hearings.
• Represent private paying clients in matters such as road traffic offences, regulatory investigations and other criminal prosecutions.
• Travel nationwide as required to attend police stations and courts.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with solid experience in criminal defence.
• Ability to handle confidential, high‑pressure cases with sensitivity and discretion.
• Strong client‑focused approach, capable of explaining complex legal options clearly.
• Willingness to travel across the UK for case work.
