Criminal Solicitor – 1+ Years PQE, Cheshire

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor with at least one year of post‑qualification experience to join our busy Criminal Law team in Cheshire. You will work in a supportive, collaborative environment handling a varied caseload for both legal aid and privately funded clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of criminal matters, including legal aid and private clients.
• Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court and handle Crown Court matters from preparation through to progression.
• Attend court hearings, represent clients at police stations, and liaise with courts and third parties.
• Ensure efficient case progression and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Prepare accurate legal documentation and provide clear legal advice.
• Contribute positively to team objectives and support colleagues.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year PQE as a Criminal Solicitor.
• Duty Solicitor status or Police Station Accreditation is advantageous.
• Strong communication and client‑care skills.
• Excellent organisational abilities with effective deadline management.
• Proactive, collaborative approach to work.
