Crisis Children's Support Worker – Emergency Ad‑Hoc Shifts

About the role

We are seeking experienced Crisis Children’s Support Workers to join an emergency rapid‑response pool covering Redcar and Sedgefield. The role involves stepping in at short notice to provide immediate, high‑quality support to children and young people experiencing acute trauma or distress.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, de‑escalate and safely intervene in highly challenging physical and verbal behaviours.
• Enter unfamiliar residential or community settings at short notice, establishing clear boundaries and a safe environment.
• Implement complex care and crisis‑management plans using positive behaviour reinforcement strategies.
• Complete accurate, legally compliant incident logs and behavioural tracking reports after each shift.

Required profile

• Unrestricted right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• Active enhanced children’s DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one immediately.
• Three consecutive years of verifiable professional references.
• Current Mandatory Training Certificate covering resuscitation and safe handling.
• BILD‑certified PMVA training certificate.
