CRO / AI Experimentation Engineer (Contract)

About the role

This 6‑month contract position focuses on shaping how AI‑powered digital products are measured, tested and optimised in a live commercial environment. You will own the delivery of experiments across AI‑native customer experiences, ensuring every change is linked to meaningful business outcomes such as conversion, containment and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Build, instrument and run experiments on live digital and AI‑driven products.
• Extend and manage feature‑flagging capabilities using LaunchDarkly or a comparable platform.
• Configure, validate and troubleshoot experiment tracking, analytics instrumentation and event collection.
• Define and review event schemas, data‑layer specifications and tracking requirements, including AI‑related metadata.
• Collaborate with analytics and senior stakeholders to evaluate commercial impact of product and AI changes.
• Support experimentation for conversational agents, AI advisors and LLM‑powered decisioning experiences.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience delivering experiments in production environments.
• Practical experience with feature‑flag management platforms such as LaunchDarkly.
• Working knowledge of experimentation tools like Adobe Target or Optimizely.
• Experience with AI or LLM‑powered products, conversational interfaces or intelligent customer journeys.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, cross‑functional setting.

• Analytics implementation, event tracking and data‑layer design
• Microsoft Azure and Azure AI services (including prompt engineering and API integrations)
• Knowledge of AI architectures such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), tool usage or multi‑agent workflows
