Crushing & Screening Engineer

About the role

Banner Contracts is seeking a full‑time Crushing & Screening Engineer to join its national team. Based at the Darlington head office, you will travel across the UK to install, operate, maintain and repair crushing and screening equipment for quarrying, mining and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate plant machinery on site.
• Carry out routine inspections and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Perform corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Monitor production performance and adjust settings for optimal output and product quality.
• Maintain accurate service records and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, colleagues and external partners.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of heavy plant, crushing and screening equipment.
• Experience in fault‑finding, repairs and equipment performance optimisation.
• Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, plant maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to work safely in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.
