Curriculum Coordinator – Built Environment & Motor Vehicle

About the role
This temporary, full‑time position supports the Built Environment and Motor Vehicle curriculum at Hertford Regional College’s Turnford campus. Reporting to the Curriculum Area Manager, you will help maintain high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement across a busy further‑education department.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Curriculum Area Manager in driving continuous improvement of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Conduct lesson observations, learning walks, peer reviews and curriculum audits.
- Analyse learner progress, attendance and achievement data to identify trends and develop improvement strategies.
- Develop and coordinate action plans for learners needing additional support.
- Promote high attendance, punctuality, behaviour and engagement.
- Support curriculum planning, timetabling and operational delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as retention, achievement, progression and attendance.
- Coach and mentor teaching staff, encouraging sharing of good practice.
- Collaborate with cross‑college support services to enhance the learner experience.
- Represent the curriculum area at open days, information evenings and recruitment events.
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive practice at all times.
Required profile
- Proven experience in further‑education teaching or curriculum coordination.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret learner data and drive improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for mentoring staff and liaising with support services.
- Commitment to high standards of attendance, behaviour and learner engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively and represent the department at external events.
Required skills
What we offer
- Competitive hourly rate of £23.09‑£24.64, dependent on experience.
- 36‑hour work week, Monday to Friday.
