Customer Advisor – Market Services (Water Utilities)

About the role

United Utilities, the leading water provider for the North West, is seeking a Customer Advisor Specialist to join its Market Services team. In this role you will support non‑household water retailers by ensuring market data is accurate and transactions are processed smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Update and validate market data across internal and external systems in line with retailer requests and service level agreements.
• Investigate transaction failures and data anomalies, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, retailers and the Market Operations Service Line (MOSL) to resolve data issues and maintain data integrity.
• Monitor transaction records to improve retailer satisfaction and reduce complaints or disputes.
• Identify and escalate data quality or operational risks to keep market data aligned with CMOS and other systems.

Required profile

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot and correct data errors across multiple systems.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities, able to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
• Collaborative and flexible approach, thriving in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £16.29 PAYE, paid weekly.
• Full‑time, 37‑hour week, Monday‑Friday on‑site at Lingley Mere Business Park, Great Sankey, WA5 3LP.
• Free on‑site parking and shuttle bus service from Warrington Interchange.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract with full training provided.
