Customer Delivery Driver – Barrow Extra

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, the Customer Delivery Driver delivers groceries directly to customers’ homes in Barrow‑in‑Furness. The role combines driving, handling orders and providing a friendly, reliable service across a variety of shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the van, trays and work area clean and organised to ensure orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely, perform pre‑delivery checks and maintain roadworthiness.
• Communicate any order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers and process refunds when required.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver within the customer’s selected time slot, providing a warm, courteous service at the doorstep.

Required profile

• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Be warm, welcoming and able to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and be comfortable working independently on the road.

• Hourly rate starting at £14.18, rising to £15.45 in certain locations.
• Minimum 16 hours per week (roles from 12 hours also available).
