Customer Delivery Driver – Havant (Extra Hours)

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will bring customers’ groceries directly to their homes across Havant and the surrounding South East England area. The role combines driving, customer interaction and physical handling of orders, offering a varied day‑to‑day experience. You will work independently for most of your shift while receiving support from a base team of managers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the delivery van, trays and work area clean and organised to ensure orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely, perform pre‑trip checks and maintain roadworthiness throughout the shift.
• Communicate any order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers in a friendly manner and process refunds when required.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver orders within the customer’s selected time slot, providing a warm, professional doorstep service.

Required profile

• Friendly, welcoming attitude towards customers and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer needs while on the road.
• Strong team spirit and relationship‑building skills.
• Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.

What we offer

• Hourly rate starting at £14.18, rising to £15.45 within the M25.
• Minimum 16 hours per week (roles from 12 hours also available).
