Customer Delivery Driver

About the role

As a Customer Delivery Driver you will deliver grocery orders directly to customers' doorsteps, representing Sainsbury’s with friendly and reliable service.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5‑tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition.
• Perform pre‑trip checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised.
• Follow planned routes and adapt to varying traffic, weather and road conditions.
• Handle containers up to 15 kg and deliver to properties that may require steps, lifts or longer walks.
• Communicate with customers about delivery status, delays and queries.
• Assist in the store when not delivering.

Required profile

• Over 18 years old with a full UK/EU driving licence held for at least 12 months and no more than 6 points.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Friendly, customer‑focused attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable driving larger vehicles in diverse environments.
• Physically able to repeatedly move containers up to 15 kg.
• Willingness to use route and delivery technology.
