Customer Delivery Driver – Port Glasgow (Extra Hours)

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will bring groceries directly to customers’ homes in the Port Glasgow area. The role combines driving, customer interaction and physical handling of orders, offering a varied day‑to‑day experience.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the delivery van, trays and work area clean and organised.
• Load the van safely, perform vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness.
• Communicate order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers in a friendly manner.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver within the customer’s chosen time slot, providing warm doorstep service.

Required profile

• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently while staying connected with the base team.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing customer needs and shift patterns.

What we offer

• Hourly rate starting at £14.18, rising to £15.45 in certain locations.
• Minimum 16 hours per week (roles from 12 hours also available).
• 20 days holiday plus a personal day, increasing to 22 days after 12 months, plus Bank Holidays.
