Customer Delivery Driver – Southampton Extra

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, the Customer Delivery Driver in Southampton brings groceries directly to customers’ homes. The role combines safe driving, careful handling of orders and friendly customer interaction, offering a varied day‑to‑day experience.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the delivery van, trays and work area clean and organised to ensure orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely, perform pre‑trip checks and maintain roadworthiness.
• Communicate order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers in a friendly manner and process refunds when required.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver within the customer’s selected time slot, providing warm, courteous service at the doorstep.

Required profile

• Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with colleagues.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing customer needs and shift patterns.

• Starting pay of £14.18 per hour (up to £15.45 in certain locations).
• Minimum 16 hours per week guaranteed, with part‑time options from 12 hours.
