Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the role

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Waitrose in Salisbury, you bring quality produce and partner-led service to customers' doors. It is a highly active, physical, customer-facing role: you deliver orders and, when not on the road, complete daily shop tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping. The job is part-time, around 15 hours per week, with varied hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays including early starts, late finishes and evenings between 06:15 and 22:00.

Key responsibilities

• Start each day in the store, then act as a friendly face for the brand on the road, with excellent customer service as your main goal.
• Talk with customers about order changes such as substitutions or short-dated items, and arrange refunds quickly if they are unhappy.
• Handle all products and deliveries carefully, and make sure customers know they will not be charged extra for substituted items.
• Help customers with their groceries and build a trusting relationship with them.
• Familiarise yourself with your delivery route and give the van a full safety check each day.
• Support the wider CFC team with general warehouse tasks when off the road.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older.
• Full, valid UK manual car driving licence (B-category) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• People skills and a friendly approach to customer service.
• Ready for physical work such as lifting crates, walking up stairs and moving large cages of about 18kg.
• Desirable: previous work driving experience or knowledge of refrigerated vans.
