Customer Delivery Driver – Winchester

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you will bring customers’ groceries directly to their homes across Winchester and the surrounding South East England area. The role combines safe driving, careful handling of orders and friendly customer interaction, offering a varied day‑to‑day experience.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the van, trays and work area clean, tidy and organised to ensure orders arrive in perfect condition.
• Load the van safely and complete all pre‑trip checks to confirm roadworthiness.
• Communicate any order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers in a friendly manner and process refunds when required.
• Handle products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver within the customer’s selected time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues to support team spirit and service quality.

Required profile

• Warm, welcoming attitude toward customers and colleagues.
• Ability to respond quickly to changing customer needs while on the road.
• Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.

• Starting pay £14.18 per hour (up to £15.45 per hour in M25 stores).
• Minimum 16 hours per week guaranteed (12‑hour roles also available).
