Customer Service Advisor

About the role

Davies are looking to recruit an experienced part‑time Customer Service Advisor to join their growing Property team in Preston. This is a three‑month fixed‑term contract starting 12 October 2026, working a rolling rota of 40 hours per week between 08:00‑17:00.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to inbound calls from home emergency insurance customers.
• Work to targets and KPIs in a friendly and professional call‑centre environment.
• Support customers through the claim journey from initial notification to resolution.
• Validate policyholder details, diagnose issues and deploy the appropriate trade contractor while keeping the customer informed.
• Take excess policy payments, arrange boiler services and negotiate with contractors.
• Multi‑skill across various insurance product lines.

Required profile

• Experience in First Notification of Loss (FNOL) for an insurer or claims handler is an advantage.
• Previous contact‑centre experience is an asset but not essential.
• Excellent telephone manner with strong customer‑service skills and the ability to think on your feet.
• Strong attention to detail and self‑motivation.
• Positive, confident approach when dealing with customers, using empathy, tact and diplomacy.
• PC literate with excellent administrative abilities.
