Customer Service Officer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer‑focused individual to join our library team in Kingston. You will help deliver a friendly, welcoming, and efficient service to our community, supporting events, learning sessions, and everyday library operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patrons with enquiries, digital resources and self‑service technology.
• Support a range of library events, learning sessions and community engagement activities.
• Maintain library stock, displays and presentation standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues, volunteers and community partners to improve services.
• Use library systems and digital tools to enhance the customer experience.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in a library, retail or other customer‑facing environment.
• Passionate about libraries and community service.
• Adaptable, friendly, collaborative and able to take initiative.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Motivated to make a positive impact on library users of all ages.
