Customs Freight Test Analyst

About the role

The Customs & Freight Test Analyst will join the Quality Assurance team of a leading UK customs clearance software provider. You will work on a mature client/server application that has been live since 2011 and on a new web‑based front‑end, applying Agile practices and modern testing approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute functional and integration test cases for customs declaration and freight forwarding modules.
• Validate seamless integration with HMRC systems and ensure compliance with UK trade regulations.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners and business analysts to clarify requirements and report defects.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated test suites for both legacy and greenfield products.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives and continuous improvement of QA processes.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of UK customs declarations and/or freight forwarding operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving ability.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn new technologies.
• Team‑oriented with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.

Required skills

• Understanding of customs clearance processes and freight forwarding workflows.
• Familiarity with QA methodologies and Agile development practices.
• Ability to quickly pick up testing tools and technologies.
