Customs Warehousing Bureau Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Customs Warehousing Bureau Coordinator to join our busy import team in Southampton. You will own the end‑to‑end management of import shipments, coordinate customs activities, and ensure a first‑class service for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage import shipments from pre‑shipment through final delivery.
• Arrange cargo movements with overseas offices and origin partners.
• Maintain accurate shipment records in CargoWise.
• Process and verify Bills of Lading and customs documentation.
• Complete customs entries within required deadlines.
• Monitor delivery bookings, unbooked reports and clearance status.
• Raise customer invoices accurately and promptly.
• Liaise with customers to obtain documentation and resolve queries.
• Produce customer reports as required.
• Identify process improvements and support operational efficiency.
• Assist colleagues during busy periods, holidays and absences.
• Attend customer meetings and help develop existing accounts.

Required profile

• Experience in freight forwarding, import operations or customs.
• Strong understanding of customs procedures, warehousing and bonded movements.
• Knowledge of Bills of Lading, Incoterms and shipping documentation.
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
• Customer‑focused communication style.
