Cyber Security Analyst – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Cyber Security Analyst to join a major public‑sector organisation in London on a 6‑month contract. The role will support the organisation’s cyber security operations and resilience programme, working both on‑site and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and respond to cyber security incidents using Microsoft Sentinel and related tools.
• Conduct threat hunting, log analysis and security investigations.
• Identify vulnerabilities, track remediation actions and support vulnerability management.
• Develop and improve incident response processes, playbooks and security automation.
• Collaborate with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders to drive security improvements.
• Provide practical security advice across the organisation.

Required profile

• Experience in cyber security operations, SOC or incident response.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM platforms.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity and Entra ID.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferably experience in local government, NHS, housing or other public‑sector environments.
