Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

MDA Space is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join its UK team. You will help protect the company’s networks, endpoints, cloud environments and identity systems while supporting incident response and threat‑hunting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security events across networks, endpoints, cloud platforms and identity systems, escalating potential incidents.
• Perform initial triage, investigation and documentation of security alerts and suspicious activity.
• Support incident‑response actions, including evidence collection, analysis, containment recommendations and post‑incident reporting.
• Analyze cyber‑threat intelligence from internal and external sources to identify relevant threats.
• Correlate indicators of compromise, vulnerabilities and threat data with monitoring tools to aid detection and investigation.
• Assist in developing, testing and tuning security monitoring use cases, detection rules, alerts and response procedures.
• Support vulnerability assessment and remediation in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.
• Participate in threat‑hunting and proactive monitoring under senior guidance.
• Prepare clear technical reports, incident summaries and security findings for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Help implement, maintain and monitor the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls and technologies.
• Promote security awareness by providing guidance on best practices and policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience monitoring security events across diverse environments.
• Hands‑on experience with incident response, evidence collection and analysis.
• Ability to work with cyber‑threat intelligence and correlate IOCs with security tools.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment processes and remediation coordination.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
